We had a trip downtown today to be at the unveiling of the mural: ‘Cromwell’s Past, Present and Future’. This award-winning mural is now finished and represents Cromwell’s shared ideas about what it thinks makes living and visiting here so unique and special.
Public artist Andrew Price led the mural project with support from the Cromwell & District Community Trust. Last year students from10C students helped to focus and to co-create the mural with Andrew.
In order to effectively depict Cromwell’s current identity the students conducted video interviews with members of our local community to learn what and who has made (and makes) Cromwell so special. Videos of all interviewees have been digitally archived and are available for watching on www.memorybank.co.nz , the town’s digital record.
The mural looks great and for all that hard work, the students deserved a treat!
